Jonas Janz: Strategic AI partner for executives.
Board chairman. Enterprise-architecture foundation. Cloud-native builder.
I sit where the board meets the platform. I chair the board of a 6,000-strong tech-user organization, I’ve architected systems at enterprise scale, and I still build what I advise on.
Now I’m turning that into janz.cloud: AI agents that take on architectural and administrative work, while humans keep the signature.

Chairman of the Board. Building Germany’s tech network.
I chair the board of DOAG e.V., one of Germany’s largest independent organizations run by and for technology users: about 6,000 members across enterprises, the public sector and the developer community.
My mandate is the network: connecting the people who run Germany’s technology, keeping the exchange vendor-independent, and opening it to new technology areas and the next generation of developers.

Origins
It started with pixels.
I started out designing games and building apps. The handle PixelJonas comes from that era: it was my name on the Pixelburg Podcast. And it’s still how I look at systems.
Every system is a game: mechanics, feedback loops, and players who will find the exploit before you do. Design for them, and the architecture follows.
- MindsetSystems thinking from game design
- HabitPrototype first, then scale
- Since 2013: Building in the open as PixelJonas
Lufthansa · 2014–2020
Where reliability isn’t optional.
Aviation taught me enterprise scale. At Lufthansa I grew from my thesis to leading a team of 12 cloud engineers building a global development platform.
Integration is where architecture gets honest: every interface is a promise someone else depends on.
- TeamLed 12 cloud engineersBuilding a global development platform
- ScaleEnterprise integration in a safety-critical industry
- GrowthThesis to project lead in under four years
Red Hat · 2020–now
Fluent in boardroom and kubectl.
At Red Hat I’ve worked every side of the table: architecting platforms, owning strategic accounts and driving cloud growth across Germany, regularly exceeding sales targets and building long-lasting relationships with customers and partners.
That’s the bridge executives need for AI: someone who can translate a business decision into a platform, and a platform back into a business case.
- ResultsRegularly exceeded sales targets
- TrustLong-lasting customer and partner relationships
- PlatformOpenShift and Kubernetes architecture
Open source & homelab
I still build what I advise on.
Around 50 merged contributions to projects like Argo CD and Immich. At home, two OpenShift clusters run fully as code, with a self-hosted AI stack and an ops agent on top.
It keeps my advice honest: I know what AI agents can do in real operations, because I run them on my own platform.
- Open source: ~50 merged upstream contributionsArgo CD, Immich, Rook, Home Assistant and more
- GitOps: A home platform run entirely as code~1,500 commits in 12 months

Agents do the work. Humans sign.
janz.cloud is my early-stage venture: AI agents for architectural and administrative work, from document management to strategic support for executives.
I’m putting frontier models like Claude to work while keeping data private, using modern AI techniques. One rule stays fixed: automate execution, keep human sign-off.
- Built onClaudeMulti-agent supervisor pattern, own skills and plugins

- PrivacyFrontier models, private dataModern AI techniques keep sensitive data protected
What I offer
- 01
Strategic AI partnership
For executives and boards: AI strategy, roadmap, governance and adoption.
- 02
Architecture agents
Agents that draft the architecture work. Architects decide.
- 03
Administrative agents
From document management to executive support. A human signs off.
What’s coming next
- Documents
Document intelligence
Turns paper piles into searchable, structured knowledge.
- Tax
Administrative tax agent
Prepares the paperwork. A human signs, it never files.
- Meetings
Local-first meeting intelligence
Pluggable speech recognition and speaker separation. No generative AI touches the raw transcript.
- Ops
Infrastructure ops agent
Alert-driven remediation with tightly scoped permissions.
Off the clock
Off the clock, I still engineer things.

I run a long-running tabletop campaign in Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere like an engineered project, build and tune my own 3D printer, and still play games.
Curiosity is the common thread. It’s also why I’m good at the first conversation about something nobody has done before.

- VoronSelf-built 3D printer
